Anthony Beauvillier Joins Blackhawks with Visa Situation Resolved

The Chicago Blackhawks are getting a reinforcement among their forward group. After being acquired in a trade last week, Anthony Beauvillier has joined the team in Chicago with his visa situation sorted out.

In the wake of Taylor Hall's injury and Corey Perry's departure, the Blackhawks needed some help up front. As a result, general manager Kyle Davidson traded a fifth-round pick to the Vancouver Canucks to acquire Beauvillier.

The 28-year-old had eight points (two goals, six assists) in 22 games with the Canucks before the trade. Beauvillier was able to make his Blackhawks debut on Saturday as his new team was in Canada to face the Winnipeg Jets. He skated on the top line and recorded two shots on goal in 16:55 of ice time before having to sit out Sunday when the Blackhawks visited the Minnesota Wild.

It initially seemed that Beauvillier's visa situation would take longer to clear up, potentially sidelining him for a few more games. But his presence at Tuesday's morning skate indicates that the process has played out and he's now a full-time member of a reeling Blackhawks team that could use an offensive spark.
