The 27-year-old forward landed another two-way contract from the Blackhawks.
Brett Seney will be sticking around the Chicago Blackhawks organization for at least another season. The team announced last Wednesday that Seney has signed a one-year, two-way contract with a $775K salary cap hit. The deal runs through the 2023-24 season.
Seney joined the Blackhawks last summer when he landed a one-year, two-way deal on July 13. The 27-year-old has spent this season at the AHL level aside from a seven-game stint with the Blackhawks.
In those contests at the NHL level, Seney logged one goal and nine shots while averaging 13:08 of ice time.
With the Rockford IceHogs, the 5-foot-9 left wing has 50 points (21 goals, 29 assists) in 53 games.
With the Blackhawks still in the very early stages of their full-scale rebuild, they need organizational depth to help fill in some gaps. Brett Seney provides just that.
