Blackhawks Send 3 Players to Rockford as NHL All-Star Break Begins
CLIFFORD OTO/THE STOCKTON RECORD / USA TODAY NETWORK

As the Hawks embark on a nine-day break, these three players will join the AHL club.

The Chicago Blackhawks will be off for the next nine days for the NHL All-Star break. While most of the team gets some time off, three players will join the Rockford IceHogs to stay fresh. The Hawks assigned forward Luke Philp, defenseman Filip Roos, and goaltender Jaxson Stauber to the AHL club on Sunday.

Philp and Stauber had brief but productive recent stints with the Blackhawks while Roos watched from the press box.

Luke Philp suited up twice and recorded his first NHL point Thursday against Calgary. In addition to the assist, the 27-year-old forward recorded three hits, one takeaway, and a +1 rating in his first taste of NHL action.

Jaxson Stauber impressed by winning his first two NHL starts. The Minnesota native had a 2.00 goals-against average and .940 save percentage in those contests.

While the Chicago Blackhawks take some time off for the NHL All-Star break, the Rockford IceHogs have three games on the schedule. They'll host the Manitoba Moose Tuesday before a back-to-back against the Iowa Wild next weekend.
