On Sunday morning, the Chicago Blackhawks assigned defenseman Ian Mitchell and forward Josiah Slavin to the Rockford IceHogs.
The team recalled Mitchell ahead of Saturday’s game against the Dallas Stars but he did not enter the lineup. The blue-liner has one assist in six NHL games and 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 19 AHL games this season.
Slavin made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks on December 2. He recorded an assist in that contest but did not crack the score sheet in his following eight games.
The team did not announce any corresponding roster moves.
The Blackhawks do not play again until Thursday. Their game against the Panthers originally scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed due to COVID issues within Florida’s organization.
Meanwhile, the IceHogs will play on Tuesday when they host the Milwaukee Admirals. Today’s roster moves will allow Ian Mitchell and Josiah Slavin to see game action with the AHL club.
