Capitals Injury Update: van Riemsdyk Skates Tuesday, Edmundson Doesn’t
David Kirouac-USA TODAY Sports

There was some defensive shake up for the Washington Capitals on Tuesday — but not what most had expected.

Trevor van Riemsdyk was a full participant, despite leaving Sunday’s preseason game after being struck on the right arm.

“Maybe a little worried at first, but no, all good,” van Riemsdyk said Tuesday. “Obviously out here practicing today so it’s nothing too bad, just being overly cautious, probably, for a preseason game.”

On the left side, offseason addition Joel Edmundson did not practice after sustaining an upper-body injury during an intrasquad scrimmage Sunday. Head coach Spencer Carbery said after practice that Edmundson would visit with team doctors later in the day.

“Probably not good, but we’ll know more tomorrow,” Carbery said.
