The Vegas Golden Knights will receive a boost to their lineup tonight, as William Carrier is expected to rejoin the team after suffering an abdomen injury early in training camp.

It appears that Carrier will slot in on the left side of the Golden Knights’ fourth line alongside Nicolas Roy and Keegan Kolesar, meaning that Paul Cotter will be promoted to the third line with Jonathan Marchessault and William Karlsson. Though he is by no means a game-breaker, Carrier is a solid energy type player who is dependable defensively and can play on the penalty kill. In 63 games last season he registered nine goals and 20 points.

Tonight will mark the home opener for the Golden Knights, who opened up their season with a 4-3 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday thanks to a late game-winning goal from Mark Stone. They will look to continue to build on that momentum and push their record to 2-0, which may not be an overly difficult task given their opponent in the Chicago Blackhawks. Not only are they a team who many believe will be bottom three in league standings this season, but they were also up against the reigning Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche last night.
