Dylan Holloway Loaned To Bakersfield Condors
Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

This morning, the Edmonton Oilers loaned forward Dylan Holloway to the Bakersfield Condors in the American Hockey League.

The 22-year-old has 4 points in 32 games this season and makes $925k on his current entry-level contract. With this move, as posted by the Andy & Rono Twitter account, GM Ken Holland now has just a little over $2.1M in cap space leading up to tomorrow’s Trade Deadline. Remember that he needed to wait for Sam Gagner to clear waivers before pulling off the Henrique/Carrick trade yesterday. It’s still dreaming in technicolor to think it’s one of the biggest names that he’s after, but you can still get a pretty decent player with this amount of money freed up.

If this transaction really is signaling an upcoming trade, let’s hope it’s just the right amount of decent. We don’t know the sorts discussions managers have, I can only tell that Holloway just got himself a night off tonight.
