Filip Forsberg had himself a night against the Buffalo Sabres as he recorded his ninth career hat trick in a 4-2 Nashville Predators win. He leads the team in goals by 10 with 33 on the season and this is his first hat trick since December 31 of 2022.

Forsberg now has the third-most hat tricks by a Swedish-born player in NHL history. He trails only Kent Nilsson (14) and Markus Naslund (11).

Forsberg already ranks ninth all-time in goals by a Swedish-born player at age 29 and he is a pure goal-scorer. He is having a great season for the Predators and it is just the second time in his 10-year career that he is set to finish the season at over a point-per-game.

While Forsberg has nine career hat tricks, he has actually scored 10 overall in the NHL. His first came in the playoffs in 2015 as a rookie and it is his only career three-goal game in the playoffs. Forsberg is on the right track to be able to eventually pass Naslund and then Nilsson to take over the top spot all time among Swedish-born players in hat tricks.
