Game Highlights 51.0: Edmonton Oilers beat Dallas Stars 4-3 in overtime
? Chris Jones-USA TODAY Sports

The Edmonton Oilers still haven’t had a losing streak in the year 2024. After starting their Central Division road trip with a loss to the St. Louis Blues, the Oilers rebounded on Saturday with an overtime victory over the Dallas Stars.

Evan Bouchard led the way with two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, while Calvin Pickard turned aside 24 of 27 shots for his sixth consecutive win. Below are the highlights from the game.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

Late in the first period, Brett Kulak took a high-sticking penalty and the Stars capitalized on the man advantage to start the second. Wyatt Johnston broke into Edmonton’s zone and Mason Marchment was there to bury the rebound.

The Oilers responded and tied the game at 1-1 under one minute later. Evan Bouchard carried the puck through Dallas’ zone, dropped the puck to Mattias Ekholm, got it back, and then sniped a shot past Jake Oettinger.

The Stars got back out in front a few minutes later when defenceman Thomas Harley activated from the point and buried a shot past Calvin Pickard to make the score 2-1.

The Oilers again bounced back quickly as Corey Perry tied the game just two minutes after the Stars took the lead. Connor McDavid threw a shot-pass along the ice and Perry was there to bury the rebound for his second goal as a member of the Oilers.

The Stars got an opportunity on the man advantage late in the second frame but the Oilers managed to score a short-handed goal to take their first lead of the game.

Moments later while on that same power play, Matt Duchene scored for the Stars to tie the game at 3-3 heading into the third period.

The two teams played a tight-checking, low-risk third period and guaranteed themselves at least a point when the score was tied after 60 minutes of play. Just 30 seconds into overtime, Evan Bouchard scored his second goal of the game to give the Oilers the win.
