Golden Knights Goaltender Logan Thompson Named to All-Star Game

Vegas Golden Knights rookie goaltender Logan Thompson has been selected by the NHL Department of Hockey to represent the Pacific Division in the 2023 All-Star Game, the NHL announced Thursday.

The rookie has had a stellar first year as a full-time NHL goaltender.

Through 27 starts in 28 games, Thompson has collected 18 wins, tied for the third-most in the league.

He has registered a total of 787 saves and two shutouts for the fifth and sixth places in the league, respectively.

Thompson also has posted a save percentage of 9.15 with a 2.61 goals against average.

"It's exciting," Thompson said when he joined the "Sheriff, Lawless and Some Guy Named Dave" podcast on Thursday. "I think at the start of the year, I didn't even really think about that, and I guess I still [am not] really thinking about that. [I'm] happy, I don't think I really saw that coming, just like I never saw me being an NHL player. So just, it's an honor, and I'm excited."

Among the other goaltenders selected for this year's All-Star Game were Igor Shesterkin of the New York Rangers, Linus Ullmark of the Boston Bruins and Juuse Saros of the Nashville Predators.

Thompson was one of 11 first-year selections.
