2022-2023 season

The 2022-2023 season didn’t get off to a kind start for Chromiak. He missed the first month of the season with surgery on his appendix on the day of the season opener for the Ontario Reign. After already missing development camp with an illness that saw him lose weight, and the surgery on his appendix, Chromiak got off to a slow start and it was understandable as to why. Going from juniors to turning professional, the game is different and faster and Chromiak getting a delayed start to the season wasn’t helpful either.

From November to December, Chromiak recorded three assists while still adjusting to the pro game. When the calendar flipped to January 2023, Chromiak went from ice cold to red hot. He recorded his first professional goal on January 8th in a 3-2 Reign win against the Coachella Valley Firebirds. Less than two weeks later, Chromiak recorded his first professional hat trick against the Firebirds, but in a 5-4 overtime loss for the Reign.

For the month of January Chromiak recorded 14 points (8 G – 6 A) in 14 games, including an eight-game point streak that saw him rack up 12 of his 14 points in that span (7 G – 5 A). For the season, he finished with 28 points (15 G – 13 A) in 55 games. During the up-and-down season for Chromiak, we saw that great shot he has to go along with his skating, while also seeing some things he’ll have to improve on such as his defense and consistency.
