Both teams would trade chances, then an unlikely goal scorer got in on a piece of the action.

Since Feb. 18 against the Kings, ‘Yotes defenseman Josh Brown hasn’t scored.

Breaking his goalless drought, Brown banged home a rebound after Coyotes center Jack McBain’s initial shot hit the pad of Blackhawks goaltender Arvid Soderblom and Arizona grabbed a 2-1 advantage with 6:07 left in the first.

With 1 already, Carcone would soon double-dip.

Following him being slashed by Bedard, Carcone would bury a one-timer set up by Crouse on the power-play to make it 3-1 Arizona with 4:05 left on the clock.

At the end of the initial-20 minutes, both teams had 11 shots each.

Second Period

Already on fire, Carcone just had to get a third tally for the hat-trick, right?

From behind the net, Carcone skated and flipped the puck over the goal.

Fortunately for him, Soderblom wouldn’t know where the puck was and elbowed it into the net 5:00 into the second period and to make it 4-1 ‘Yotes.

Furthermore, McBain sniped the puck top right over Soderblom’s glove 1:38 later and the game got out of hand, 5-1.

Adding more fuel to the fire, Carcone would get yet another point on top of a hat-trick.

Towards the right boards, Carcone snatched the puck and whipped it to Arizona defenseman Sean Durzi who scored to open up the game to 6-1.

Not stopping, Coyotes forward Liam O’Brien buried one, but the play had to go to review.

McBain fluttered a shot at Soderblom before it was saved and immediately deflected off O’Brien’s right skate before entering the net.

Right after, the referee’s waved off the goal, but after review, it counted to add to the blowout, 7-1 with 4:34 remaining in the second frame.

Third Period

Yet again, the Coyotes offensive onslaught didn’t stop.

Getting his second goal of the game, McBain would tap-in a one-timer off of a pass by forward Alex Kerfoot at 10:37 into the third.

With the score being 8-1, the offense finally simmered down to conclude the game.

Postgame Stats

In the end, Carcone would record 3 goals and an assist for 4 points. This would be Carcone’s first career NHL hat-trick.

Tying him in points, McBain had 2 goals and 2 assists in his 100th game in the National Hockey League.

Kerfoot had 3 assists while O’Brien, Durzi and center Travis Boyd all put up 2.

As for goaltending, Ingram rebounded tonight as he made 29 saves on 30 shots after giving up 3 goals on 9 attempts against LA.

On the other hand, Soderblom gave up 7 goals on 22 shots before being replaced by Petr Mrazek who stopped 10 out of 11 shots in relief.

Arizona was 1-for-4 on the power-play while Chicago was 0-for-2.

Next on-deck, the Coyotes head to Anaheim to clash with the Ducks inside Honda Center on Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.
