Nashville Predators acquire Anthony Beauvillier from Chicago Blackhawks
Jamie Sabau-USA TODAY Sports

According to multiple reports, the Nashville Predators have acquired winger Anthony Beauvillier from the Chicago Blackhawks.

Beauvillier, 26, has four goals and 14 points in 45 games split between the Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks this season. He’s a pending unrestricted free agent with a $4.15 million cap hit.

Daily Faceoff‘s Frank Seravalli reported the full details of the trade on Thursday morning. The Blackhawks received a fifth-round selection in the 2024 NHL Draft in exchange for Beauvillier.

Additionally, The Athletic‘s Scott Powers confirmed that the Blackhawks did not retain any of Beauvillier’s remaining cap hit in the deal.

The Blackhawks originally acquired back in November of 2023, sending — you guessed it — a 2024 fifth-round pick to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for the Quebec-born winger. Thursday’s trade with Nashville allowed them to recoup their investment.

Miromanov arrived in Vancouver midway through the 2022–23 season as a component of the Bo Horvat trade with the New York Islanders. Beauvillier appeared in 55 games over parts of two seasons with the Canucks, collecting 11 goals and 28 points.

The Islanders selected Beauvillier in the first round (No. 28 overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft, using a pick they acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Sorel-Tracy, Quebec product spent the first seven seasons of his career on Long Island, topping out with 18 goals and 39 points in 68 games during the 2019–20 season.

The Predators are in the midst of a playoff push and can use as much help at forward as they can get. They currently sit in fourth place in the Central Division (and in the second wild card spot in the Western Conference) with a 35–25–3 record and 73 points in 63 games this season.

Through 535 career NHL games over parts of eight seasons with the Islanders, Canucks, and Blackhawks, Beauvillier has collected 115 goals and 243 points. He’s added 15 goals and 29 points in 49 career playoff contests.
