NHL Wednesday bets: Three games to target for points and goals

Tonight is our last night of NHL betting until next Monday, so let's make the most of it.

We won't hide from the fact that we've been circling the wrong guys the last few nights, failing to hit a points or goals parlay so far this week.

We continue on with a process that feels solid, and tonight's five-game slate has three teams in particular that feel like great targets for points and goals props.

We'll highlight the games, the players who stick out, and their point and goal odds.

A points parlay of these three comes in at solid +253 odds on DraftKings, and if you're feeling like you want a lottery ticket for goals, that parlay is +2451 on FanDuel.

Let's get to the games.

Los Angeles Kings

The first game is the Los Angeles Kings visiting the Detroit Red Wings. The Kings have been steady scoring and shooting the puck, averaging 3.0 goals per game in their last five on the road. Los Angeles also averages the seventh-most shots per game on the road, and Detroit is an ideal target on the other end.

While the Red Wings' shots allowed number has dipped just under 30 per game at home, they're still allowing a lot of goals at home.

In the past five games, Detroit is surrendering 4.2 goals per game at home, the fourth-highest mark in the NHL.

I like that as a target, so we roll with the Kings for points and goal value.

Anze Kopitar

Kopitar has the steadiest points production for the Kings on the road lately, registering at least one point in nine of 11. He's also getting the puck on net recently with nine shots in his last two road games.

The goals have been present, if not consistent. Kopitar has five goals in his past 10. This is far more a bet on points, with the hope that his involvement in the offensive zone will yield us a goal tonight.

Point odds: -190 (DK) Goal odds: +240 (FD)

Minnesota Wild

The Wild are in a great spot to continue their scoring success, as the Blackhawks are allowing 3.8 goals in their last 10 home games, which is fifth-most in the league.

Minnesota's averaging the seventh-most goals scored per game in its past 10 on the road, and with Chicago also seeing plenty of shots against, there should be opportunities for multiple Wild skaters tonight.

Kevin Fiala

Fiala is rolling when it comes to points, which is where these parlays are starting today. Fiala has one-plus point in 11 straight games, impressive consistency.

On the road, he has a point in six straight and eight of nine, clearly very involved in Minnesota's offensive success.

Fiala has eight goals in his last 11 games and has scored in three of his last six on the road.

He was held without a shot in the Wild's last game against a stingy Islanders team. Prior to that, he had three-plus shots in seven straight. I like following that steady volume.

Plenty of good options to consider on this team tonight.

Point odds: -152 (FD) Goal odds: +205 (FD)

Calgary Flames

We targeted Arizona last night, which didn't go our way, but it's worth another go. Arizona's allowing 3.2 goals per game in its last 10 at home, which is 13th most, and the Coyotes see 35.4 shots per game, which is the second-highest home mark.

On the other end is Calgary, which has pummels shots at goalies in the past 10 road games, averaging an absurd 41.8 shots per game, the most in the NHL by a sizable margin.

The Flames also average 3.4 goals scored per game in their past 10, eighth-most in the league.

Matthew Tkachuk

Tkachuk is just another example of finding points before anything else. On the road, Tkachuk has 14 points in his last 10, recording at least one in eight of 10 games.

He has six goals in that span, and he feels like the best option to keep it rolling against a vulnerable Arizona team.

Point odds: -245 (DK) Goal odds: +146 (FD)

Closing Thoughts

Let's finish this abbreviated week strong! Consider the above information however you see fit. I like these games best for goals scored, and now it's just about piecing together the right combinations.

I'll be parlaying both the points and goals from above. +253 on DraftKings for points and +2451 on FanDuel for goals.

Enjoy the night!
