1943: Max Bentley Sets Blackhawks Record in Rout of Rangers

On January 28, 1943, Max Bentley set a Blackhawks franchise record by scoring seven points in a 10-1 blowout win over the New York Rangers.

Bentley dominated the score sheet with four goals and three assists. He assisted on two of the Blackhawks' first three goals and then poured it on by scoring all four of his markers in the third period. His brother, Doug, had a fine day as well with two goals and four assists for six points.

Max Bentley's seven-point performance is tied with Grant Mulvey for the most points in a game in Blackhawks history. Mulvey accomplished the feat on Feb. 3, 1982.

Notable Blackhawks Birthdays

Colin Fraser , a 2010 Stanley Cup champion with the Blackhawks, was born on January 28, 1985. Fraser scored 36 points (13 goals, 23 assists) in 157 regular-season games across four seasons with the Blackhawks. After reaching NHL glory with Chicago in 2010, he won another Stanley Cup in 2012 with the Los Angeles Kings.

Daniel Carcillo, a 2013 Stanley Cup champion with the Blackhawks, was born on January 28, 1985. Carcillo recorded 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) in 90 regular-season games across two stints with the Blackhawks. The rugged forward added one assist in four playoff games with Chicago.
