Ottawa Senators’ Tim Stutzle to miss tonight’s game vs. Montreal

As Bruce Garrioch reports, Ottawa Senators forward Tim Stutzle will miss tonight’s final home game against the Montreal Canadiens with an upper-body injury.

Stutzle was injured after a hit by Florida Panthers defenseman Niko Mikkola during an April 4. 6-0 loss to the Panthers. He missed last Saturday’s game against the New Jersey Devils, which was his bobblehead and Fan Appreciation night.

The 22-year-old has been healthy all season after missing four games last year with a shoulder injury. In 75 games in 2023-24, Stutzle has scored 18 goals and 52 assists for 70 points, leading the Senators in scoring.

Last season the German-born star notched 39 goals and 51 assists for a career-high 90 points in 78 games, leading the Senators once again. Stutzle is in the first year of an eight-year, $66,800,00 contract extension he signed with the Senators in 2022. The contract has an average annual value (AAV) of $8,350,000. In four seasons in Ottawa, Stutzle has played in 285 games, potting 91 goals and 156 assists.

Boko Imama will dress again on the fourth line with Jiri Smejkal and Zack MacEwen. Imama has four games played this season with the Senators but has yet to register a point. The 27-year-old has 10 points and 115 penalty minutes in 53 American Hockey League (AHL) games with the Belleville Senators.

The Senators have compiled a 35-40-4 record and 74 points through 79 games. They sit one point ahead of the Canadiens for last place in the Atlantic Division and 10 points ahead of the Columbus Blue Jackets for the worst record in the Eastern Conference.
