Penguins Trade: Get Bemstrom from Columbus, Nylander Goes to CBJ

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired winger Emil Bemstrom from Columbus for forward Alex Nylander and a conditional sixth-round draft choice in 2026.

Benstrom, 24, has five goals and six assists in 32 games with the Blue Jackets this season. He also put up 10 goals and four assists in eight games with their American Hockey League affiliate in Cleveland.

His contract carries a salary-cap hit of $900,000 and expires after this season.

Bemstrom is 6-foot, 195 pounds and has 31 goals and 38 assists in 204 career games with Columbus. He has spent parts of three seasons in Cleveland, accumulating 26 goals and 21 assists in 33 games there,

Bemstrom was the Blue Jackets’ fourth-round draft choice in 2017.
