Predators' Filip Forsberg Passes David Legend on Franchise's Scoring List
USA TODAY Sports

On Saturday Filip Forsberg surpassed former Predators David Legend as the second all time points scorer in franchise history. Forsberg's second period power play goal and his third period assist on Gustav Nyquist's empty net goal, he move two points ahead of Legwand.

Roman Josi currently holds the top spot for total career points for the franchise with 654. After last night, Forsberg has 568.

Forsberg was drafted in 2012 by the Washington Capitals with the eleventh overall pick. On April 3, 2013 David Poile traded Martin Erat — who sits at fourth on Nashville's all time points list — and Michael Latta to bring a young Forsberg to Nashville. Forsberg recorded his first point on April 23, 2013 in a game against the Calgary Flames and his first goal the following season on October 8, 2013 against the Minnesota Wild.

The Erat/Forsberg trade is thought of as one of David Poile's best deals, and Forsberg's 568 points attest to the importance of Forsberg to the franchise.

Tonight Forsberg will look to add to his career point total as the Predators take on the Anaheim Ducks at 7:00 pm CT.
