It is evident that the Nashville Predators are a strong team this season, but this group has surprised many, especially after a tough start. While it has been a team effort to get to where they are, three players from the Predators actually lead the league in points this season at their specific ages.

These three players happen to all be part of the leadership group in Nashville. Filip Forsberg leads all 29-year-olds in points, Josi has the most points among 33-year-old players, and Gustav Nyquist tops the league in points from a 34-year-old.

If you were to guess who the only team in the NHL to have three players leading their age group in points, not many would have taken the Predators. There are only five other teams with even two players - Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, Dallas Stars, and Boston Bruins.

Forsberg leads 29-year-olds by a wide margin as he is having a great season. This age isn't filled with the same elite talent of other ages either. While he has 35 goals and 71 points in 68 games, there is only one other player even at a point-per-game, and that's Jake Guentzel in second with 55 points. Forsberg has a demanding lead and it comes in what looks to be the second best season of his career.

Josi has been very good this season once again. He never takes a night off and offensively, he has been surging up the leaderboards in points. He sits third in the league among defensemen in points, but it just so happens he is now tied with Victor Hedman for the lead in points among any 33-year-old in the NHL. Josi has 17 goals and 67 points in 68 games and has been very hot in the second-half of the season. The closest player behind the co-leads is Steven Stamkos with 60 points.

The most surprising might be Nyquist's hold on the 34-year-old age group. He is a talented player, but joining the top line on the Predators has really rejuvenated him. His career high in points is 60 from 2018-19 when he split time between the Detroit Red Wings and the San Jose Sharks. Nyquist is already at 59 points this season and the closest player age 34 in the NHL this season to him is Jamie Benn who sits 14 points back.

There is no doubt that the Predators will finish the season with the most scoring leaders by age as two have it locked in and Josi can't be slowed down. This is something fun to keep an eye on while Nashville continues to win and put points up on the board.
