Sabres' Dylan Cozens receives maximum allowed fine for cross-check on Islanders' Brock Nelson

Buffalo Sabres forward Dylan Cozens was fined $2,235.42, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for cross-checking New York Islanders center Brock Nelson on Tuesday.

The incident occurred in the second period of Tuesday's game. With the score tied up 2-2 at roughly the halfway mark of the period, Cozens skated behind Nelson across the neutral zone before checking him from behind. A scrum ensued shortly after.

Cozens was assessed a minor penalty at the time and continued to play the rest of the game, ending the evening with three assists.

The Sabres ultimately defeated the Islanders 6-3.
