Sabres F Jeff Skinner week-to-week with upper-body injury
Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

Buffalo Sabres forward Jeff Skinner is considered week-to-week as he deals with an upper-body injury, the team announced Thursday.

Per Buffalo head coach Don Granato, Skinner sustained the injury during the team's 5-2 setback to the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday. Skinner collected a goal and an assist in that game.

"Skinny is a big part of when we go; he's usually going," Granato said. "Yes, it's a big loss. ... Guys just have to elevate and pick up."

Skinner, 31, has a team-leading 17 goals to go along with 16 assists in 38 games this season. He is playing in the fifth season of an eight-year, $72 million contract.

A Calder Trophy recipient after a strong rookie campaign in 2010-11, Skinner has totaled 657 points (350 goals, 307 assists) in 970 career games with the Carolina Hurricanes and Sabres.
