Watch: Nick Schmaltz Discusses Coyotes’ Success after 6-0 Victory over Capitals
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

After scoring two goals against the Washington Capitals, Arizona Coyotes forward Nick Schmaltz reflected on what transpired in a 6-0 win on Dec. 4.

Like Coyotes head coach André Tourigny said, Schmaltz believed that the score did not replicate what happened.

“I don’t believe the scoreboard reflected how they (Washington) played, Schmaltz said. “They came out and played really well. It’s hard to play when you are up 5-0, but we did a good job sticking with it and not giving them too many good looks.”

Schmaltz scored two goals last night, including one on the power play.

This victory over Washington was Arizona’s fifth straight as now they are fourth place in the Central Division.

When talking about the camaraderie between all the Coyotes players during this run, Schmaltz was excited about how everyone is coming together.

“Everything is fun when you are winning,” Schmaltz said. “We are having a great time, working hard for each other. You can tell the guys care about each other, it’s been pretty fun.
