Watch: Roman Josi Sets A New Predators’ Playoff Record
Bob Frid-USA TODAY Sports

Nashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi owns a number of the team’s regular-season records, and in Game 1 of Sunday’s Stanley Cup Playoffs matchup against the Vancouver Canucks, he added a postseason accolade to his resume.

With his assist on Jason Zucker’s first-period goal that put Nashville up 1-0, Josi broke a three-way tie with Ryan Johansen and Ryan Ellis for the most playoff assists (32) in franchise history.

The 33-year-old captain already owned the franchise record for most points by a defenseman in a single playoff year (14, 2016-17) and multi-assist playoff games (7), and he’s tied for third all-time behind Filip Forsberg (13) and Johansen (10) in multi-point playoff games.

In 86 career postseason games, the Swiss defenseman has 11 goals and 43 points. He ranks third all-time in franchise history behind Forsberg (53) and Johansen (48) in playoff points.

Josi has 10 assists in his last 15 playoff games.
