Jessica Springsteen, daughter of rock legend Bruce Springsteen, selected to U.S. Equestrian Olympic team

Jessica Springsteen, daughter of Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bruce Springsteen, is part of a four-member jumping team selected to compete at the Tokyo Olympics, U.S. Equestrian announced on Monday. 

Springsteen, 29, will make her Olympics debut. She served as an alternate for the 2012 Summer Games in London, then failed in her bid to make the 2016 Games in Rio. She will ride Don Juan van de Donkhoeve, a 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood stallion.

Springsteen, who is ranked 27th in the world, joins a team consisting of Olympic veterans Kent Farrington, Laura Kraut and two-time gold medalist McLain Ward. Ward helped the U.S. jumping team win gold medals in 2004 and 2008. (Kraut was part of the 2008 team.) Ward and Farrington were part of the silver medal-winning team at the 2016 Games in Rio.
