Paris Saint-Germain has been connected with several players as potential replacements for Kylian Mbappé. It’s anticipated that the Frenchman will depart this summer as his contract with the Parisian club comes to an end, with reports suggesting he’ll be heading to Real Madrid.

So, with the 25-year-old’s production needing replacement, Parisians must come up with a plan. PSG, in response, are being linked to several players, one of whom is Victor Osimhen.

The Napoli standout seems poised for a summer move, with interested parties prepared to meet the hefty price tag required to pry him away from Serie A. Nonetheless, this might be why Arsenal are cooling their interest in the Nigerian goal scorer.

In his latest column for Caught Offside, transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano noted the reason the Gunners’ name isn’t constantly mentioned in rumors as a possible destination for Osimhen.

“I’ve had some fans asking me about reports in Italy suggesting that Arsenal have cooled their interest in Victor Osimhen because he could be too expensive or that they are concerned about entering into difficult and lengthy negotiations with Napoli,” Romano wrote.

“Osimhen has always been appreciated, but many clubs are cautious now waiting to understand the salary/commission package, as there’s already a very expensive release clause to take into consideration. This is why Arsenal are looking at other strikers, including Viktor Gyokeres, who remains on their shortlist.”

PSG could also be out of the Osimhen sweepstakes as RMC Sport recently reported that the Ligue 1 side are focusing on other positions behind the scenes.
