Barcelona coach Xavi was furious after their Champions League defeat to PSG.

Barca collapsed 4-1 at home in the second-leg of their quarterfinal, with Ronald Araujo sent off for the visitors. Barca were eliminated 6-4 on aggregate.

Xavi said: "We are upset, angry, because the play marks the entire tie. There is another tie from that play. It is too much to draw the red.

"It's a shame that the work of the entire season ends here due to a decision. I would have liked to play eleven against eleven. This expulsion is unnecessary.

"I told him (the ref) that it was very bad, that it was a disaster, that this expulsion changes everything. It marks the tie so much that we have to say it.

He also said: "I will try to speak calmly and reflectively, nowadays 11 against 10 is impossible. You give too much advantage. It is unnecessary and unfair. The tie is blown up.

"Football is over. We have used pride and character. But it is very difficult. Ronald aside, that's why I said to go to the VAR. It makes us angry. 11 against 11, we have been comfortable, dominating... I would have liked to do something... it has to be something very clear and evident for us.

"In the first leg, there is an action by Vitinha, which the referee interprets as being the second and could leave them with one less, and he doesn't do it."
