Dyche says Everton sale remains on track

Everton boss Sean Dyche believes the club's sale remains on track.

Delays are continuing for 777 Partners' takeover.

But Dyche says "I can only imagine that running a football club is not an easy business. There must be so many checks and so many things to go through.

"Yes, it's taking more time but that's the way it goes. I'm not involved at that level about what goes on here. It's just a wait-and-see situation."

On their latest two points penalty, he continued: "I feel quite similar to the last one. It was unexpected in the sense that we thought it had been dealt with, but it clearly wasn't, and we will be looking into the timeframe for us to be able to appeal.

"But my last response was, what's done is done. We're very confident that the league table won't change again in terms of anything this season. We've just got to focus on our next games now after being dealt that news.

"I spoke to the players, reminded the staff and my players about it which is to focus on the job at hand.

"I do think it's difficult around the confusion, and it's not just Evertonians that feel that way. I think I said it last time - a number of football fans generally come up to me and say 'What is that all about?'

"We are confused by it, I think that's fair to say, but the reality is we've got to get back to it and yes, lots of people are scratching their heads but we've got to go through it. We've been through it once and we'll do it again. The games come thick and fast."
