Inter to Pursue Outbound Real Madrid Staple Nacho

Nacho Fernandez has elected to leave Real Madrid at the end of his expiring contract, becoming an option for Serie A sides in search of a defender, primarily Inter. However, convincing him to join won’t be particularly easy. He might opt to transfer to an exotic league, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs (via 90min).

According to Marca (via Mediaset), the defender will surely flee La Liga. He doesn’t want to play against Los Blancos. The Nerazzurri will be in the running. The 34-year-old has spent his whole career in the Spanish capital. He has collected 355 appearances and won all sorts of titles.

Inter will test the waters to see whether they could make Nacho their third Bosman addition after Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski. Director Piero Ausilio hinted at those signings talking to Sky after the Derby.

“This is the time to rejoice together. We have already done a couple of things and maybe acted a little too quickly because everybody expects more now. Among our purchases, without taking anything away from anybody, I’d like to single out Marcus Thuram. We zeroed in on him two years ago. There’s always a lot of work and planning behind any deal.”
