In many ways crashing out of the Champions League is in no way shape or form the most embarrassing or bad thing that has happened to Chelsea this season, but it will sting the most.

The season is now over in early April, and the Blue's have nothing to fight for other than avoiding relegation in the months that remain of the season.

Former club legend Didier Drogba has been speaking on the situation and he is less than impressed with the new look Chelsea.

“It’s no longer the same club. There is a new owner and a new vision. Of course, we try to compare it with what happened during the Abramovich era where a lot of players were brought in, but the decisions were very intelligent”

Strong words from a man who does know what it means to be a Chelsea player and what the club is truly all about.

Things have changed since Todd Boehly came in and only time will tell whether that means it's the dawn of a new era for Chelsea or the destroying of an era they didn't want to end.

Chelsea have spent a lot of money but certainly not on the right players and going into a Champions League quarter-final with no natural goal scorer after spending £600million is unforgivable.

Boehly needs to get this summer correct for Chelsea in terms of recruitment, or Chelsea will be going down a road Manchester United fans know all too well.
