Juventus have a lot of balls in the air in the midfield and are aware that one big signing, Teun Koopmeiners in their ideal plans, probably won’t be enough to fully address their needs. Most of their current contributors have an undetermined future, Corriere dello Sport informed (via OneFootball).

Adrien Rabiot will make his contractual decision only at the end of the season. The Bianconeri want a longer deal this time around. His latest statements hinted more at a departure than a permanence.

In addition, Juventus will need to come to terms with another midfield stable, Weston McKennie, whose expiration date is 2025. The extension talks haven’t gone too well so far. He makes €2.5M and asks for a raise. He’ll be sold without an agreement.

Massimiliano Allegri has suggested targeting Leon Goretzka. It’s far from certain he’ll still be their coach, though. Lewis Ferguson is no longer an option. The Old Lady believes in Fabio Miretti’s potential, and Nicolò Fagioli will return from suspension in May.

Our Take on the Juventus Midfield

Since they don’t swim in gold, they better keep their own, especially McKennie, who isn’t that expensive salary-wise and is consistent, to avoid having to do too much in the summer. They can fall back on their talents only for depth purposes in this role. The call about the gaffer comes first though, as it’ll inform them about which traits to look for. A maestro would be the biggest possible upgrade if they continued with a three-man line.
