Manchester United fans successfully pushback on 17/19 ticket rule

Manchester United have released the minutes from last week’s Fans Forum.

The Fans Forum, along with Manchester United Supporters’ Trust, has secured a significant win for fans by reaching an agreement with the club on changes to its barbaric 17/19 minimum usage policy for season ticket holders.

This caused a great deal of anxiety for a lot of match-going fans, who were concerned they could end up in a position where they could be forbidden from renewing their season ticket, potentially for reasons outside their control.

What happens to ST holders who are ill, suffer flare-ups or if there’s an emergency from one week to another? Fans felt this was another example of football clubs pushing us away and forgetting their core values to the community.

United have been forced to make a U-turn after aggravating many season ticket holders, so for next season, the minimum ticket usage will go up by one, from 14 at present to 15 next year.

Further increases from 15 to 16 and 17 will only take place in consultation with the Fans Forum, who are representing us all. The FF needs to ensure that it keeps the club on its toes, but they deserve credit for pushing for change to the 17/19 ticket rule.

Moreover, for games which have not been sold out and where buy-back from the club is disabled (such as Sheffield United last night), you will be allowed to forward your ticket to non-members as well as members.

Fair play those involved in the Fans’ Forum for successfully pushing back the club on its 17/19 ticket rule.
