Real Madrid did not manage to hold onto an early lead given to them by Vinicius Junior at El Sadar long, but they are faring better after Dani Carvajal‘s goal.

The two sides exchanged goals early on and were level again after just six minutes, with Vinicius spurning the chance to give Los Blancos the lead again inside 10 minutes. This time when he got in behind the defence, Sergio Herrera thwarted him.

The Osasuna goalkeeper could do nothing about Carvajal’s hooked effort into the corner though. Brahim Diaz lofted the ball into the path of Fede Valverde in the box, which the Uruguayan played back into the penalty box on the turn. Carvajal was surprisingly first on the scene, and invented a brilliant finish to give Carlo Ancelotti’s side an advantage for the second time.

It’s Carvajal’s fourth goal of the season, and evidence of the increased offensive role he has been granted this season.
