Second Arlington Renegades Player Hits IR List During Training Camp
© Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

And the hits keep on coming for the Arlington Renegades. For the second time in the past week, one of their players is heading to the injured reserve list. Defensive back Cameron Brown was placed on the list by the team on Thursday.

Brown's move to IR comes on the heels of offensive lineman Garrett McGhin's injury just last week.

Brown spent training camp with the Los Angeles Chargers last year, but he was part of the final roster releases made in August.

He made 40 appearances and 15 starts over five seasons for the Ohio State Buckeyes, finishing with 55 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception and 14 pass deflections. Durability was an issue in college as well; Brown missed time with a number of injuries, including most of 2020 with a torn Achilles tendon.

It's a tough break for the defensive back, as Brown was looking to make his way onto the final roster. Arlington still has plenty of talent at cornerback, including Jamal Carter, Ajene Harris, Jamar Summers and Brandon Rusnak. The Renegades are hoping it’s not a sign of things to come after the secondary was hit with the injury bug all of last season.

UFL teams will have to make cuts to get their rosters down to 58 players by Sunday.
