Cody Rhodes gives honest thoughts on Logan Paul's wrestling skills

Logan Paul recently won the WWE United States Championship when he defeated Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio at Crown Jewel. Many wrestling fans believe Paul is just a gimmick act that is hurting professional wrestling. He has minimal in-ring experience and is being put "over" ahead of lifelong professionals.

During a recent appearance on the "Gabby AF" podcast , WWE star Cody Rhodes gave his honest thoughts on Paul's wrestling skills.

“How good is he, huh? There's some what I call pretend wrestlers in all companies, all across the world, and I think he probably irritates them the most because brother is an absolutely stellar professional wrestler," Rhodes said. h/t to Fightful for the transcription. "Absolutely stellar. Greatest rookie year of all time, perhaps. He is blazing forward, so I look forward to what he does."

Love him or hate him, Paul has been undeniably impressive when given the opportunity to perform in the ring. He's a natural athlete. He knows when to sell and when to surge. There is a large swell of support for him from the younger generation of fans.

Yes, Paul's fast track to the WWE mainstream can be considered unfair. However, he's natural on the mic. He elicits strong reactions from the fanbase. And he produces viral moments whenever he performs.

For a company that is no longer the only shark in the ocean, Paul is a vital addition. AEW has been gaining ground in recent years. While the rival company is still lightyears behind WWE in terms of audience and brand recognition, the gap has been closing.

If Paul can impress a lifelong wrestler such as Rhodes, then he is certainly a talented individual.

The partnership between Paul and WWE is a win-win, no matter how many feathers it may ruffle in the industry and the wider wrestling world.
