Amid the fan backlash over him seemingly not headlining WrestleMania 40, Cody Rhodes is set for action on this Monday's episode of Raw.

Rhodes will renew his rivalry with Shinsuke Nakamura in a bull rope match on Raw this Monday (February 5). The match comes after an angle where Nakamura blindsided Rhodes with mist to the face backstage at WWE's house show in Knoxville, Tennessee on Saturday.

WWE uploaded a video today with Raw general manager Adam Pearce announcing the Rhodes vs. Nakamura bull rope match for Raw. Pearce said Rhodes requested the bull rope stipulation.

On the January 8 episode of Raw, Rhodes defeated Nakamura in a street fight to prevail in their rivalry. But Nakamura cut a promo after that warning Rhodes to keep his eyes open. Nakamura said their story isn't over until he says it's over.

After winning the men's Royal Rumble match,  Rhodes said on SmackDown last Friday that he's coming after Roman Reigns -- but not at WrestleMania. Rhodes then brought out The Rock for a confrontation with Reigns. There's been significant fan backlash on social media since then over The Rock seemingly taking Rhodes' WrestleMania main event spot.

Raw is taking place from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri on Monday. The updated card is listed below:

  • Bull rope match: Cody Rhodes vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

  • Gunther celebrates passing 600 days as Intercontinental Champion

  • WWE Women's Tag Team Champions The Kabuki Warriors defend against Katana Chance & Kayden Carter
  • The Miz vs. JD McDonagh
  • Mixed tag match: Akira Tozawa & Maxxine Dupri vs. Ivar & Valhalla
  • Fatal four-way match: DIY vs. The Creed Brothers vs. Imperium vs. New Day (winning team faces Pete Dunne & Tyler Bate in a number one contender's match on SmackDown)
