In 2018, Santana appeared in 69 games for the Pirates, going 3-4 with a 3.31 ERA. He struck out 74 batters in just over 66 innings that season.
Tucker had been hitting well in spring training before the league-wide shutdown, putting up a slash line of .296/.387./.667, much better than his 2019 big league output of .211/.266/.361.
